形態特徵

• Annual ascending herbs, to 140 cm tall; stems much branched, greenish-yellow with red spots, glabrous to sparsely sericeous; nodes enlarged.
• Leaves lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate, 7–15 cm long, 1.5–3 cm wide, apex acuminate, base cuneate, both surfaces brown-glandular, moderately puberulous; some plants with lower leaves densely woolly beneath; petioles narrowly winged, 0.2–1 cm long, decurrent; ocreae tubular, 1–2 cm long, veins red, some of them woolly, upper margins eciliate.
• Inflorescences 3–6-flowered fascicles in spike-like panicles, terminal or in axils of upper leaves, to 10 cm long, densely flowered; peduncles glandular pubescent, 2–5 cm long; bracts oblique-funnelform, glabrous, apex acuminate, upper marginal cilia less than 1 mm long. Flowers greenish-white or pink; pedicels slightly exserted; perianth segments 4, 2–3 mm long, deeply 2-cleft, with few glands, apex obtuse, veins forking into two recurved branches; stamens 5 or 6; styles deeply 2-cleft, included.
• Achenes dark brown, compressed lenticular, smooth, shining, 1.5–2 mm long.

• 台灣 : at low altitudes, often in open fields, dry and sunny lands, throughout the island.,
• 世界 : Australia, tropical to temperate northern hemisphere (including the whole area of China, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Indochina, Indonesia, New Guinea, the Philippines, Japan and Korea).
